Does the Restaurant Menu design influence your food choice?
Today I tried out a vegetarian restaurant for the first time in my life. I’m not vegetarian. I just wanted to see what healthy(er) options I have for my lunch. I walked in and my first thought was “This is not the most luxurious restaurant I’ve ever been to.” I was handed the menu and I started looking for something appealing. 5-6-7-…-15 pages of choices! Moreover, the menu was “designed” in a word document, regular white paper, no photos of the food. NOT the best-looking menu, either. To my surprise, the menu featured something I don’t see too often on a restaurant menu. Calories count! Did it bother me? Not really! Will I ever go there again? Only when I feel adventurous which in my case translates to “probably not.”
The very first thing you see in a café or restaurant after you take a seat at the table is the menu. The restaurant menu is its business card and it determines what food or drinks we choose. The menu reflects the unique personality of a place and its atmosphere. Furthermore, menus have to include some tasty food photos along with refreshing or hot drinks. A well-designed menu can make a difference for your guests.
If we are talking about 2018 Menu trends, we have to include these ingredients: “Super powders”, non-alcoholic “spirits”, plant-based food , mushroom coffee, various tea and Instagrammable foods.
The choice of colors, fonts, and white space is critically important and could influence client’s decisions. With this in mind we have collected 20 gorgeous restaurant menu ideas for inspiration below.
